Visit Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales!

Feel like you’re in a real-life fairy tale by visiting Bok Tower Gardens!

Bok Tower Gardens is one of those places that will truly take your breath away! It’s only about 90 minutes from Tampa (when I-4 cooperates) in Lake Wales.

Bok Tower Gardens is open 365 days a year from from 8 am to 6 pm. I’d suggest getting a moderately early start because there’s a lot of ground to cover! You can purchase tickets online ahead of time or at the entrance gate.

When you arrive, stop at the Visitor Center to use the restroom and watch a video about Edward Bok and the history of the gardens. That’ll give you a deeper appreciation of what you’re about to see!

Head for The Singing Tower first. You’ll be able to appreciate its beauty without crowds earlier in the day. The carillon concerts are at 1 pm and 3 pm, but you’ll still be able to hear shorter selections on the hour and half-hour throughout the day.

By the way, daily visitors aren’t allowed to go inside the tower, but you can sometimes meet the carilloneur after his daily performances!

No matter your age, I’d highly recommend checking out the Hammock Hollow Children’s Garden during your visit.

There are magical touches everyone will appreciate! We especially loved “The Gateway” as you enter the garden.

You should also consider touring El Retiro during your visit. It’s a 20-room Mediterranean-style mansion that will make you feel like you’re back in the 1930s!

Tickets are seven dollars per adult, on top of general admission (which is $17).

Docents will help guide you through the mansion. Their stories help bring El Retiro back to life! Every single space is different (on purpose!).

Lucy’s Room (below) really stood out to us for its location, natural light, and the bathroom! You’ll understand what I mean when you visit!
